Quiz Make-up and Late Paper Policy

If you are experiencing life issues that impact your ability to perform in this class, including but not limited to health, work, or family issues it is critical to contact me as soon as possible. I cannot help you if I don't know what is going on and if you wait I may not be able to do anything for you.

Quizzes

Since online quizzes are available for a week, can be accessed globally from any internet capable computer, there is no need to have a make-up policy (other than utilizing the make-up/retake opportunity at the end of the semester).

Discuss and Report

1. Notify the instructor the day of the missed class.

2. Bring documentation that explains the absence (doctors note, police report, note from employer, evidence of alien abduction, etc.). Absence must be unavoidable. Note: if you are a caregiver (or have other mitigating circumstances) and this might impact your attendance please let the instructor know at the start of the term.

3. The student will be make up the activity by providing the 4 most interesting aspects and the 4 most interesting findings, facts, concepts for the weeks reading. Identify the location of this information by page number. Each aspect must have a 25 word minimum rationale for its selection. This must be free of technical errors.

4. Student must submit this make-up assignment via an email attachment NO LATER than the date provided by the instructor.

Students who fail to actively participate in this activity will receive ZERO points.

Workshops

Workshops have online and in-class components. The online comments required PRIOR to the in class workshops may not be made up. The in class workshops may be made up.

3. The instructor will decide if or how a workshop can be made-up.

Late Assignments

Listed deadlines for assignments are the LAST DAY they are accepted. Students are encouraged NOT to wait until the end of the turn-in period to submit required work. Assignments usually due the morning after the last class of the week - this time period should be used for turning in - not completing the assignment! Students are encouraged to submit assignments as soon as they are completed. Assignments are due via email attachment. Technical difficulties such as internet access or computer problems will not be accepted as excuses.

Late assignments submitted after the time deadline will be immediately assessed a 50% point penalty. Once the assignment due date has passed students will receive no credit.
